Beth Urdang Gallery is one of Boston’s leading exhibition galleries focusing on contemporary American paintings, works on paper and important secondary market works of the American Modernist period (1915-1945).  Prior to opening the gallery on Newbury Street in Boston in 1989, Beth Urdang graduated with a BFA and MA in Painting and subsequently worked in NY as the Associate Director of the Zabriskie Gallery on 57th Street and the Director of Jeffrey Hoffeld & Co. on Madison Avenue from 1973-1984.

After 25 years on Newbury Street in Boston, the gallery has been been open exclusively in our Wellesley, MA location at 16 Grove Street (Wed - Sat, 10:30 to 5:30 & By Appt.) as of January, 2015 .  We are looking forward to re-locating to Boston in the fall of 2015 to Boston’s SoWa Arts District at 460 Harrison Avenue in the South End while the Wellesley gallery will continue to operate at the current address and maintain the Wednesday - Saturday schedule.

In addition to outstanding solo exhibitions of contemporary art, theme exhibitions of museum quality - often spanning the period 1915 to the present - are a unique aspect of the gallery.   We are pleased to have placed numerous important secondary market works in significant art institutions worldwide.  For a comprehensive overview of all shows organized during the past 11 years, please click the “Previous Exhibitions” prompt on the gallery’s website for a chronological and inclusive list of gallery exhibitions.
