Gallery 100
65 East University Drive
480-727-6380

Established in November of 2003, Gallery 100 became ASU Main's fourth student gallery. Originally located on the ground floor of the Engineering Center, The gallery was relocated to Tempe Center in 2007. In its new location, just north of the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center, the gallery is more accessible to ASU's art students and the community that is brought out by the coordinated opening receptions held weekly in each gallery. The purpose of Gallery 100 has been to provide students, faculty and academic professionals of the School of Art with exhibition space that serves the needs of the school. In accordance with the overall objectives of Arizona State University, the gallery supports the research, teaching and public service functions of the school. Gallery 100 hosts senior group exhibitions in drawing, painting, photography, intermedia, digital art, fibers, ceramics, metals, sculpture, and printmaking as occasionally serving as a venue for larger group curatorial efforts. The gallery is operated by student gallery attendants and maintained by the gallery director, gallery technician, and the BFA students during their group exhibition period. In recognition of the primary function of the gallery as an academic and teaching tool of the School of Art, the selection of exhibitions will inevitably, over time, include content not appreciated or understood by all viewers and visitors. If educational value can be demonstrated, diverse content is sought and controversy is not avoided.
