Our History

Tracy Weisel, a potter, moved to Jerome in 1975. In 1981 he purchased the New York Cafe ruin and began the long process of building Raku Gallery. The gallery opened in 1988 and is now known as one of the premier destinations in Jerome.

Raku Gallery was named such for the Zen translation of raku meaning ease, enjoyment, contentment, pleasure and happiness. Tracy and Nancy now represent over 300 artists predominately from the Southwest. Within the spacious 2200 square foot gallery you will find an eclectic collection of fine art and crafts including paintings, ceramics, free-blown glass, jewelry, sculpture and furniture. Your senses are in for a treat.
