The Compound Gallery & Studios was established in 2008. We were voted Best Art Hang Out 2012 and Best Art Complex 2015 by the East Bay Express! Located in the Golden Gate district of North Oakland, our two buildings boast over 12,000 square feet.

The Artists Gallery-features the work of ourstudio artistsand curated by Toni Gentilli.
TheAdmiral Dot Miniature Gallery-the smallest gallery in the West and is featured on Roadside America as a noteworthy attraction.

Our 2D building (1167 65th st.) studios offer: screen printing, etching, letterpress, and photography.
Our 3D studios (1145 65th st.) offer: ceramic studio, metal shop, blacksmithing, wood shop, Art Lab with 3D printer, vinyl/paper cutter, and laser cutter (coming in 2015).
Our studios are an art institution without the institution....an art school, without the school. We are proud to offer our studio artists 24/7 access to both buildings in an interdisciplinary work environment that goes beyond a physical studio space. We have an Interdisciplinary Artist Residency Program which provides selected artists with 6 month access to our facilities and equipment for free.
