About Us:
Wooden Stone began as the brain child of Drew Crawford, with the idea that useable objects can be beautiful and artistic, as well as functional. In August 2004, Wooden Stone opened its doors in the college town of Davidson, NC, where Drew had attended Davidson College as a Chemistry and Political Science major.
The gallery soon outgrew its temporary space, and so in November 2005 Wooden Stone moved to new, much larger space next door. November 11 marked the unveiling of the 5,000 square foot space with a gala and visits from several North Carolina artists. With details like a fully-functional custom kitchen by Miters Touch of Boone, NC, and acid-stained concrete floors by Huntersville's Euro Floors, the gallery also serves as a stage of ideas for home builders and designers.
The staff of Wooden Stone have combined backgrounds in art, photography, design, and education, and find the gallery a great environment for their skills and inspiration.
